Inspection/kitchen sink/and an array of other things that have happened..

Well first off, we had inspection last week. You'd think for the amount we spend to live here we wouldn't have people come and tell us to clean up our house...but we do! We hear horror stories of people failing for leaving dryers on the counter and not cleaning their ovens so we did some major cleaning! (if you fail you can pay up to like $100). Thankfully when it was all said and done we got the white glove which is the cleanest it can be! We got a tin of cookies too! My roomates that were here got their picture taken to be put on the board in the office...pretty cool :) Also, the other day we decided to go to the boardwalk for one of my friends birthday! It was the most precious place ever! They have an actual boardwalk, a big lake in the middle, boats that take you across it, sandy beach area, and so much more precious things. We went to Beaches and Cream. If you don't know what that is...all you need to know is THE KITCHEN SINK! The kitchen sink is served in an actual sink like container, has 8 scoops of ice cream, every topic they serve, as well as a whole can of whip cream (A WHOLE CAN)!! Oh yes it was beautiful! This dessert goes for $27, but there was 7 of us so we split it up and only ended up paying 4 dollars a piece! You def need to try this is you are ever in the area! Lets see what else has been going on?!? Well good news is I havent been sleeping so much lately hah Ive been bowling ($22 for two games!!!), to all the parks, the boardwalk, just to see the firework shows etc... Ive really has a great time getting to know all the people I work with! The #1 best thing about being a Vacation Planner (over sitting every day and having air conditioner) is the friendships you make withe everyone you work with. We are one of the smaller areas of the park so we are able to really get to know most people in our area! Most of the things I have done is with my fellow CP's who are VP and some of the veteran VP's as well! I really could not have asked for a better position! In other news...My brother, boyfriend, best friend, her boyfriend, and my parents are coming to see me next month! I am so excited! I have so many places and people I want them to see! I cannot wait! Also, when Micah, Shelly, and Dalton are coming there is a Kenny Chesney,Eric Church, Eli Young Band, and Kasey Musgrove concert in Tampa which I REALLY want to go to! Fingers crossed I get that day off! Well i guess that is all for now..Ill end with some pictures :) oh btw the weather is beautiful :)

$tar$strukkkk

okay guys news flash!! I may now be best friends with Johnny Depp....okay maybe not best friends but I am 98% sure we exchanged hellos today! ahhh See this is what happened....I had greeter training today so basically I just stand outside the place where they unload the trams and say hello and direct the people where to go. Well at some point in the morning I saw this man and thought to myself "man he looks like Johnny Depp." But thinking nothing of it I said Hi and welcomed him to the park and he said hello and kept making his way. After a while I got my break and heard some girl talking about Johnny Depp being at Magic Kingdom today, and when I cam home I saw several post verifying his being there. So while I am not 100% sure it is him I am going to say it was and tell everyone!! :) oh...and lets not forget the rare sighting of honey boo boo and her family at Disney this past week as well! I myself have never seen the show but know this little girl by name. I heard a coordinator say her family was at the park and two other girls and myself awkwardly walked by several times just staring at the huge family of like 10, and not to forget the big scary body guard they had with them. So the moral of this story is...I LOVE WORKING FOR DISNEY! oh and Johnny Depp& Honey boo boo and I are besties :)Ill be giving out autographs soon ;)

The Basics of Vacation Planning& Start of Classes

Well, I have finally finished my on the job training and am now all alone to face the real world. Ive been two days without a trainer and so far it has been good. For those of you who are wondering what Vacation Planning really is...I decided I would explain it. Coming in to the program I really had no idea what Vacation Planning was..everyone told me something different. But, basically what we do is tickets sales. As a VP on top of ticket sales we also serve as greeters and Parade control (at least at th Magic Kingdom). Also, as I found out the other day, we also have to squeegee. While it wasn't as bad as i imagined, I had to wake up at 5:20 to get to work at 6:30 to squeegee the ground before the park opened. And as for my persona experience as a VP so far, its really been great! My first day with on the job training we started the new ticket system ( which we hadn't been trained in) but it all worked out. The good thing is, everyone is learning together so we aren't getting punished when we mess up. Ive really enjoyed the guest interaction (Ive on;y been yelled at 2 times). Obviously, some people get angrier easier than others, but overall all our guest have been pretty understanding. The hardest part I would say is the language barrier. We have a line we can call to translate between the guest and ourselves, but it is still hard to really get to know the guest and find out what they need through the translator. Just yesterday I had a man from Brazil come to my window at 1:56 ( I was suppose to close at 2) and he had a will call that was not in our system, seeing that he did not speak much English and we could not call his agency that booked the ticket because they were out of the country, it made it really hard to complete the transaction. What was suppose to be 4 minutes I had left quickly turned into 45. In the end he had to buy 2 more 4 day tickets..I felt bad but there was nothing else we could do. But all in all that is the basics of VP. Its a really awesome job, and it seems once people work here they seem to stick in the same place. Also, I just started classes this past week. I am taking Human Resources and Hospitality Management. I am getting credit for this classes through my school, so I should complete my minor while I am here at Disney! They both are 4 hours long! But all in all its not too bad! I am really excited about the HM class because we get to build our own businesses from the ground up presenting a business plan to make people want to go. HR is more of a notes class, but all in all it doesn't seem too bad either. These classes are on Tuesday and Friday so it should work out that I get those days off work always! (not everyone's works out that well though). The classes are also only once a week and they are 11 weeks long. So, its shorter than a normal college course and I still get credit so its a great deal. In other news the roommates and I decided to go to the Florida Mall today to kinda get out of Disney and into the rest of Florida. We had great bonding time at the mall, then had a nice dinner at Olive Garden. Tomorrow I have a 9 1/2 hour shift, so I am off to sleep so I can wake up! Night
